I had my students use the mobile lab to make a KWL chart using Google Docs and our Wiki. http://swatteamwiki.wikispaces.com/Safe%20Online

I plan on using my mobile lab to have my students create an inspiration web about animals and persuasive writing which then they will put into an outline that will show them how to write a paragraph paper.

Today we are going to record a reader's theater script using Garage Band during guided reading time. We are working on fluency and expression. Depending on how it goes I might post it to our class blog.

My 4th graders have written stories about water-drop characters traveling through the water cycle. They are using the mobile labs to create Power Point presentations of their stories. They will draw their illustrations and then use the digital camera to transfer them to the power point!

I used Excel to help teach the order of operations. I taught them how to type in an equation with an exponent, making sure to put a + in front of the equation. After hitting enter, they are amazed they get an answer. I have them copy that cell down 4 cells. Have them click in the equation in the formula bar of the 2nd cell and add parentheses, hit enter and the answer changes. Even Excel knows the order of operations. Put parentheses in different places in the other cells. Students really found it cool.
